My Professional Plumber ranks #3 in Powell — which means they are already capturing a share of the leads that matter most. But for Knoxville proper, they are invisible. The top 3 businesses in Google's map pack get 50 to 60% of every click. Expanding from Powell into Knoxville means more calls, more jobs, and significantly more revenue without spending a dollar on ads.

We audited My Professional Plumber, a plumbing company based in Powell, Tennessee serving the greater Knoxville area. At Tae Results, we help local businesses show up higher on Google so their phone rings more often. In this audit, we looked at how My Professional Plumber appears on Google Search and Maps, reviewed their Google Business Profile, checked their website, and assessed their citation presence.

How My Professional Plumber Ranks Right Now

We started by Googling "My Professional Plumber" to see what comes up. No other businesses are competing for their exact name, and all of their properties — website, Facebook, Yelp — show on the first page. That brand presence is clean and uncontested.

Next, we searched "plumbing in Knoxville Tennessee" to see where My Professional Plumber shows up in the Google Maps results. They do not appear in the top 10 for Knoxville proper. However, their actual business address is in Powell, Tennessee, and when we searched for plumbing in Powell, My Professional Plumber ranks number 3. That is a strong position — the top 3 businesses in the Google map pack receive 50 to 60 percent of all clicks, meaning more than half of customers searching for a plumber in Powell are seeing My Professional Plumber before they see most competitors.

The gap between ranking in Powell and ranking in Knoxville is largely a proximity issue. We explored a similar challenge in our Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Knoxville audit where geographic signals play a major role in map pack positioning. Google favors businesses physically closer to the searcher. To expand into Knoxville's map pack, My Professional Plumber would need to build more Knoxville-targeted content on their website — dedicated area pages and service pages mentioning specific Knoxville neighborhoods — and strengthen their Knoxville-area signals through geotagged photos and local citations.

My Professional Plumber Google Business Profile Review

My Professional Plumber has a strong review profile with healthy velocity. They are consistently getting new reviews, which is more important than total count. For service-based businesses like plumbing, we recommend a steady pace of at least 2–3 new Google reviews per week. My Professional Plumber appears to have a working review system in place that is delivering that kind of consistency.

Their photos are excellent — diverse types including business information, team shots, and project work. None are stock images. The variety builds trust with potential customers and gives Google more visual content to associate with the listing. One improvement would be to geotag these photos with GPS coordinates from specific job sites around the Knoxville metro area, which helps Google associate the business with a broader service territory.

We noticed My Professional Plumber has a "Book Online" button on their GBP, which is a great touch that many plumbing businesses miss. Having a clear call-to-action with minimal friction for the customer directly in the Google listing is exactly the right approach.

Their GBP categories are more numerous than we typically recommend. We cover the category dilution issue in depth in our SMK Plumbing & Electric audit where 7 categories were hurting more than helping. Their GBP categories We usually advise a maximum of three categories to avoid diluting the primary keyword's ranking power. However, the current category setup appears to be working for My Professional Plumber in Powell, so this would not be a top priority to change — if it is not broken, do not rush to fix it.

The biggest gap we found is the GBP services section. My Professional Plumber does not appear to have their services listed. Google allows up to 99 services, and this is where businesses capture long-tail search queries — things like "water heater installation near me" or "emergency drain cleaning Powell TN." We recommend loading at least 30 to 50 services with descriptions for the top 20. This is one of the easiest and most impactful things My Professional Plumber can do to improve their visibility.

My Professional Plumber Website SEO Review

The My Professional Plumber website makes a good first impression. The title tag reads "Plumbers Near Me — My Professional Plumber," which is functional but could be improved by adding the specific location. A title tag like "BEST Plumber Powell & Knoxville TN – My Professional Plumber | Plumbing Services near me" would send a stronger geographic relevance signal to Google.

The H1 tag includes the keyword and city, which is what we want to see. The website also has a Google Map embed, which is a positive local SEO signal that many competitors miss. The NAP information appears to be present, though it is critical that the name, address, and phone number match the GBP exactly — same abbreviations, same formatting, everywhere.

The site has plenty of indexed pages — well above the 30-page minimum we recommend. This means My Professional Plumber already has strong content coverage with service pages and area-specific content. The site has a valid SSL certificate (HTTPS) and appears to load well.

We checked for LocalBusiness schema markup and My Professional Plumber does have it implemented. This is a strong technical signal that many competitors lack. It tells Google exactly who the business is, where they operate, and what they offer in a structured format.

My Professional Plumber Citations & Local Listings

My Professional Plumber has citation presence across high-authority directories including Yelp, Guild Quality, Facebook, MapQuest, Nextdoor, Angie's List, and Trust Analytica. That is a strong foundation covering the major platforms Google trusts most. There may be additional niche-specific directories worth pursuing, but the core citation profile is solid.

What My Professional Plumber Is Doing Well

This is one of the strongest profiles we have audited. My Professional Plumber ranks number 3 in Powell for their main keyword. Their review velocity is strong and consistent. Their photos are diverse and authentic. They have a booking link directly in the GBP. Their website has proper schema markup, a Google Map embed, SSL, and plenty of indexed content. Their citation profile covers the major high-authority directories. From the outside, it is clear that someone is paying attention to their online presence — this is not a neglected profile.

Top Recommendations for My Professional Plumber

1. Load services into the Google Business Profile. Add at least 30 to 50 services with descriptions for the top 20. This is the single most impactful gap in the current profile and captures long-tail searches that competitors are leaving on the table.

2. Add Knoxville-targeted content to the website. To break into the Knoxville map pack (not just Powell), build dedicated area pages targeting specific Knoxville neighborhoods and suburbs. Each page is a new opportunity to rank for location-specific searches.

3. Improve the title tag. Add the specific service area (Powell, Knoxville, Knox County) to the homepage title tag to strengthen geographic relevance signals.

Bonus: Geotag all photos with coordinates from Knoxville-area job sites, ensure NAP formatting is identical across every platform, and consider whether the number of GBP categories could be pruned if rankings plateau.
